While you’re causing havoc on the slopes and laughing at your friends and their misfortunes in Sledding Game, you’ll slowly start earning coins from trick jumps and mini games, but it can feel like pretty slow going. If you want to earn the big bucks, there’s one sure-fire way to quickly bring in big bucks: Fishing.
I know, I know. Spending your time near a fishing hole waiting for the fish to bite isn’t as thrilling as throwing yourself off the side of a mountain in blind hope that you’ll reach the bottom without crashing out. However, with fish worth upwards of 40,000 coins each to be found, it’s worth stepping away from the slopes.

How to get a fishing rod in Sledding Game

Your first stop on this shortcut to riches is getting yourself a fishing rod, which is easier said than done, but easier if you know how. You need 10,000 coins to purchase the fishing rod, and the easiest ways I’ve found to get that initial amount of cash are:
- Drinking hot chocolate
- I know this sounds bizarre, but if you’ve got good rhythm and fast fingers, you can easily earn 2,000 coins or more per turn you take at the table in front of the bar inside the lodge.
- Races
- If you head up to the very top of the mountain, close to where you can find Bing Bong, you can find a few races to set off. Reaching the finishing flag first will net you 1,000 coins every time, and you can even do the races alone to get some guaranteed funds.
- Trick jumps
- Certain paths around the lodge have some excellent jumping off points that let you get a huge amount of air. If you do some flips and spins while airborne, you can get a good amount of coins in your pocket.
However you choose to make the money, once you’ve got 10,000 coins, head to the tools stall inside the lodge (the one on the right behind the fox statue), and purchase the fishing rod.
How does fishing work in Sledding Game

If I’m honest, the act of fishing itself definitely isn’t rocket science. You find a hole (there are two up on the mountain where Bing Bong is), equip your fishing rod from the menu, then aim and cast. Wait until the bobber dips into the water to signal a bite, and then pull it out to get a fish. Like I said, the act of fishing isn’t complicated, but the fish themselves might prove a little confusing at first.
Every fish you reel in can be sold at the little cart inside the lodge, just to the left of the front door as you enter, but at first glance, prices may seem to be kind of all over the place. That’s because not only does the type of fish affect the selling price, but also the size and length play a role too.
There are four types of each fish:
- Normal
- Small
- Large
- Shiny
It goes without saying that a large version of a fish is going to be worth more than the small version of that fish, but a shiny small fish may be worth more than a non-shiny, normal-sized fish. Plus, on top of that, the length of each fish also changes the price that it will sell for, so two large versions of the same fish might have different prices because they’re different lengths.
Honestly, this guide started out as an idea to make a spreadsheet detailing all of the fish and how much they sold for. I quickly realized that it was a stupid idea, and that was upsetting, because I no longer had an excuse to make a spreadsheet, which is honestly one of my more nerdy hobbies..
What’s the most expensive fish in Sledding Game

While I can’t guarantee that I’ve caught every fish that it’s possible to catch in Sledding Game, I have spent many hours with my rod dangling over the hole in the ice, and I haven’t seen a single video of someone catching a fish that I haven’t managed to catch myself.
In my experience, the most valuable fish you can catch is a Great White Shark, which defies physics to squeeze through the tiny hole and not snap your fishing line. My most expensive Great White Shark sold for around 44,000 coins.
Edit: Wouldn’t you know it, as soon as this guide was published for all to see, I pulled an entirely unexpected sight out of the a fishing hole. Apparently this fishing rod is made of unbreakable thread, because it’s capable of dragging whales up to the surface, which can be worth upwards of 300,000 coins if you’re lucky enough to drag up a huge one.
