As you venture around Clesseia and the surrounding areas in The Knightling, you’ll find more and more side quests unlocking for you to complete. One of them, The Knight’s New Clothes, is actually three mini-quests combined into one larger one. If you love some customization, this one is worth completing.
The Knight’s New Clothes can be picked up by talking to Rhapso, the tailor who mans the stall near the palace. You’ll need to complete three quests with three other NPCs to gather up the following materials that she needs to make Sir Lionstone some new attire:
- Ultramarine Dye
- Leather
- Strong Steel
How to get Ultramarine Dye

Your first task as part of this main quest is to talk to the Dye merchant directly opposite the tailor’s stall. He’ll tell you that he can’t hear the melody of the caged birds nearby over the hubbub of the city, and ask you to recreate the tune using the nearby bells.
There are six total bells in the area, four on the side of the dye merchant and two on the side of the tailor’s stall. You’ll need to hit three of them (shown above) in a precise order to complete this section of the quest:
- The bell directly above the caged birds
- The bell furthest to the left on the dye merchant’s side of the bridge
- The bell to the left of the tailor’s stall
Once you’ve done that, he’ll give you the Ultramarine Dye, and you can move on to getting some leather.
How to get Leather

To get your hands on the leather needed for Sir Lionstone’s new attire, you’ll need to transport some fine wine from the winemaker’s stall to the palace in under 45 seconds. That’s a pretty big ask, considering the distance you need to cover, but it can be done if you plan your route precisely and don’t make any mistakes.
The fastest route I’ve found is to head directly for the mechanism to the west of the winemaker’s stall and call down the lift, then sprint from the lift to the desired location at the palace. It’s tight, and it might take you a few tries, but it can be done with one or two seconds to spare.
Once you’ve pulled it off, you can head down to the blacksmiths to talk to Master Tornbold to get the strong steel.
How to get Strong Steel

Master Tornbold has returned from the vault to deal with some pesky thieves who have stolen his latest shipment of Windtorn Steel, and needs a knight to deal with them and get the goods back. Of course, he wouldn’t trust a knightling to do the job for him, but when has that stopped us before?
Head up to the basins of water on the left side of the castle, and make your way around the back until you find a cracked section of the wall near the cliffside. Inside this crack, you’ll have to take down three bandits, which is easily done, before you can open the chest and retrieve the stolen goods.
In the smaller of the two chests, you’ll find a chunk of Windtorn Steel to keep, and you can then head back to the tailor with all of the materials she needs to make Sir Lionstone’s new attire.
Rewards for completing The Knight’s New Clothes

For bringing her all the materials she needed, Rhapso will give you some pretty useful rewards. Firstly, a Knapsack Pouch, which expands your storage when you collect four. Perhaps most excitingly, though, is a new color scheme that can be used to customize your knightling. The Knight’s Colors will be unlocked automatically, and you can switch to them in the Knightling section of the main menu.
