Once you’ve played through the original D3AD HAND, you’ll find yourself wanting to see more of Yuri and Stalin. Thankfully, there’s a DLC sequel included with your purchase of the game, R3D STAR, that has a whole new and much more challenging story to complete.
As part of R3D STAR, you’ll first need to find a map and then use it to navigate the many different locations within the game en route to saving whoever put out the SOS call over the radio. It’s easy to miss some of the locations on the map, but you’ll need to visit all of them if you want to successfully complete R3D STAR.
How to get the map in D3AD HAND: R3D STAR

Finding the map is one of the first tasks you’ll face in R3D STAR, after hearing the SOS message over the radio in the break room of the now familiar bunker. To do this, you’ll need Stalin’s help, and luckily, R3D STAR lets you play as your feline superior.
Once you’ve heard the SOS message, speak to Dimitri and ask him if you can get Stalin’s assistance. Having done that, talk to Stalin on top of the fridge, and he will jump down, apparently agreeing to help you. From this point onward, you can switch between playing as Yuri or Stalin at any time using the icons in the top left corner.

Talking to Dimitri again will let you know that he spilled vodka on the maps, and this is where Stalin can help, with his superior sense of smell. Open the fridge as Yuri, then switch to Stalin and sniff the bottle of vodka in the door of the fridge, locking onto the scent before switching back to Yuri and exiting the break room through the door to the right, into the control room.
When you’re in the control room, head to the door toward the back of the room and, once inside, switch back to Stalin. You’ll need to have him sniff the pile of boxes on the back right-hand side of the room, which will alert Yuri to the smell of vodka on a particular box. Inspecting this box as Yuri will provide you with the map.
All map locations in D3AD HAND: R3D STAR

Initially, the map will only have four locations on it: Chita, Ford, Base 23, and Old Mine. As you start to explore, there are eight further locations to be discovered, bringing the total number of locations to 12.
It’s too easy to skip over a location or two while you’re wandering around the map, or otherwise spend a very long time aimlessly wandering around trying to find something interesting. Rather than letting yourself get lost, here’s a complete map with all of the locations marked:

- Hut
- Crater
- Ford
- Secret Base
- Crater
- Air Drop
- Old Mine
- Nitroglycerin
- Base 23
- Vladimir’s Camp
- Chita
- Cabin
These locations are not marked in the order in which you would necessarily find them while playing R3D STAR, but this is a handy little cheat sheet for you to find each location (or any that you’ve missed) if you find yourself stuck and wondering about the route forward at any point.
